This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach a diverse and incredible class of motivated general education students and English Language Learners. My children come from incredibly loving families; most of these families are low income.
My classroom includes children with learning disabilities, children whose families are experiencing poverty, children with limited English proficiency, and children from a wide range of backgrounds.
Having the opportunity to attend a high quality early education program enables these children to explore new ideas and develop lifelong habits for learning.
My Project
Paper! Yes, it seems so simple, but it's the lifeblood of a productive learning community. Recently, due to budget constraints and inadequate funding, the teachers at my school have been told that only have one box of paper to last us the remainder of the school year. I want to make sure that we don't need to compromise our students' education because of something as fundamental as paper. Every student in our K-8 school needs enough paper to last them through the end of the school year. Please consider donating not just for my class but for the entire school. Your contribution would help over 900 students receive the paper they need to complete the school year.
