My Project

My students are kind. They are eager to learn about injustices in history and historical fiction. They are so curious and willing to put themselves in the shoes of the characters and people we read about.

These materials would give them a new world/culture to explore, discover, and put themselves in circumstances they have never experienced or may even be able to imagine before reading such a moving text; therefore the empathy and respect for others will expand.

Overall this book will help my student build their empathy for others and themselves. This book is very modern and super engaging which may also help kids feel seen and heard.
