My students are diverse and quirky, focused and energetic, studious and creative. They come from a variety of different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and circumstances and have a wide range of interests. They're ridiculously well rounded for teenagers!
Regardless of their backgrounds, one thing that they all have in common is a deep devotion to their education and a desire to learn and grow as young historians.
They're always willing to try something new and love engaging with history and civics!
My Project
Although this project list doesn't seem super enticing it's the types of things that make a classroom function. Organization materials and things like tape and post-it notes allow students to seamlessly work in groups and tap into their creativity! We're asking for tape, stickers, pencil pouches, binder clips and a few other small classroom necessities so that we can keep our classroom functioning smoothly.
In order to change up the way that our students work with historical documents and texts, we're trying to do more "authentic assessments" and project based learning.
Projects like poster and map making, video creation and museum curation proposals require materials beyond pens and pencils and a way to organize them. This project will provide those tools and allow us to engage with our students in a different way!
