My students are very loving students who are full of energy and ready to learn everyday. My students come from a variety of different backgrounds. I teach at a school where some of my students do not receive the love they need from home. I have some students who are not able to afford materials or clothes so they go to a certain program where they are able to receive free clothing. So at school, while they are with me, I want all of my students to know that they are loved and important.
I want my students to look forward to coming to school and not just because they have to.
Building relationships with my students is something I take very seriously. At nine, ten years old, they go through some hardships outside of school but they are always excited to come to school to learn and do their best. They all have a dream to be successful one day. They inspire me to do better as a teacher and I am proud to call them my students.
The materials I am requesting are materials that could be used in our daily lessons. During lessons, they will all be able to engage in our math lessons. While I am teaching, I could give them a problem to solve and walk around to check for understanding. Sure, I could have them do it on a piece of paper, but it's exciting to work on a white board!
It would motivate my students because its a fun way of getting them engaged!
As much as they love writing on desks, it would be much easier for students to write on white boards and hold up their answers afterwards. My students will be able to benefit from using white boards during lessons and during independent work time.
I would also love to use Balance balls within the classroom to start flexible seating. I would love to incorporate flexible seating into my classroom. I have observed classrooms that used flexible seating and I saw that the students were more focused and engaged while working. I would love to see the difference flexible seating will make.
