Help me give my students high quality tuners to aid in their musical development. The Peterson HD tuners will of particular help to our bassists while the Korg tuners will benefit everyone. Thank you for your support!
A diverse student population of over 2,400 students attend our school. Of the nearly 2,500, approximately 50% receive free or reduced rate lunch. However, despite any potential barriers to entry, a sizable number of students are involved in a wide variety of music education opportunities on campus, including orchestra, band, choir, and musical theater. While we are thrilled to include all students who wish to participate in the music education offering of their choosing, we must work diligently to provide the requisite amount of support to ensure access for all.
My Project
The materials requested will support over 120 musicians across three sections of orchestra at our High School. Specifically, the Peterson HD tuners will aid our bassists. While our program has more bassists than tuners requested, the number requested represents the number of bassists in our largest section. Of course, all items will be made available to every student.
These items will be used by our students everyday in class and rehearsal!
The availability of the Peterson tuners in particular, will assist our students as they tune instruments and check their intonation throughout rehearsal.
We currently use instructional technology, as available, to support our students with respect to intonation. We utilize intonation drones via Spotify, digital apps (ex. Tonal Energy, iStroboboSoft, etc.), and other supports as is possible.
The addition of these tangible resources will provide for our student-musicians an additional support that they can use in the classroom, in sectionals, and as individuals as they prepare for performances, assessments, and other musical opportunities.
