Being respectful, responsible and safe is the goal of our school, and we are awesome at it. As a community of learners we strive to celebrate individuality, creativity, energy, insight, and compassion while pursuing excellence.
I am truly blessed with 22 of the most amazing students, who face the most daunting challenges and overcome them on a daily basis.
My students think critically and grow in the most awesome ways. That is why our class motto is, "WE ARE AWESOME!"
My Project
After doing a great deal of research on flexible seating I am convinced that my students will benefit from the wobble chairs, cushions and balls that I have requested. Specifically, I have 7 students who struggle with excessive amounts of energy which often creates an obstacle to their focus and engagement. I am believing that these flexible seating options will provide a constructive and productive outlet for them.
Along with it meeting a need to expend energy, I believe that the flexible seating will increase student choice in my classroom.
I am a believer in students owning our classroom space, and after input from them, we believe these wobble chairs will increase comfort, engagement and the sense of community in our class.
