My 3rd grade students have been learning how to read music and are excited to begin creating music of their own. These materials will allow them to practice their music reading skills and to make music of their own.
My 3rd grade students are excited about learning and love music.
They just completed their Christmas program and did a fantastic job! It was amazing to see them put together everything they have learned in music so far this year. They are amazing performers and love to sing. Since my school is in a low-income area many of these students are not able to participate in luxuries like private music lessons. Their once-a-week music class is the only chance they get to use their creative personalities to create and participate in music.
My Project
Boomwhackers will allow my students to practice their music reading skills and create their own music. Students will use the Boomwhackers to practice Classical and current music. They can even use Boomwhackers to improvise and write their own music! Boomwhackers also help students learn and practice musical concepts such as rhythm, melody, harmony and musical pitches.
Currently we only have a small selection of xylophones for students to use to create music.
Boomwhackers will give students a unique instrument to learn and can be used with every grade in elementary school. They are also portable which is important because I travel to 3 different schools to teach music. These materials will give students a special musical experience as they create their own music and practice what they have learned throughout the year.
