My students are from a rural school. What amazes me about them in how involved they all are. They don't just participate in one extra-curricular activity, but MULTIPLE extra-curricular activities. Sharing is a must between teachers and coaches to make it a successful experience for the students. Their time management skills never cease to amaze me.
What also impresses me with my students is the growth mindset they bring into my classroom each day.
At rehearsals, I frequently ask them to think and perform "out-of-the-box." Their mindset has helped them refine their skills and make substantial growth already since the start of the year.
My Project
In the band room, we use speakers frequently. I use it for drone tones, a class metronome, and listening examples to name a few. However, the current speaker system is me plugging my computer into an old cassette player and using those speakers. It is less than ideal to say the least. By purchasing the MegaBOOOM 3, it would greatly improve the speaker quality and allow students to actually hear the metronome while playing. I also like the fact of being able to have the ability to control the speaker from my phone no matter where I'm standing in the room.
