Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are imaginative and fun-loving kids. They are creative, thoughtful, and ready for challenges! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects, and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions!
They have been growing so much as readers and writers, I would love to provide them with some tools to help them grow even more, as well as some materials to help me provide live and recorded lessons with everything I need!
My Project
With Boom cards, my students can stay engaged and learn at the same time. I have been struggling to bring fun and excitement into our learning through distance teaching, and my students have really seemed to be enthralled by learning through Boom Cards!
Little do they know that the fun games they are playing are doing great things to help them master their vocabulary, grammar, and listening skills in class.
Each card in a Boom deck is self-correcting and gives immediate feedback to the students about their choices. Each deck can show the teacher which questions the students are understanding and how long it is taking them to get the correct answer on the card, which gives the teacher a beneficial tool to look at for creating interventions and reteaching different concepts. Knowing that my students understand and can apply certain skills means that we can focus more on the things they need to work on.
