Help me give my students interactive academic activities to have them engage more in learning activities.

Do you know how hard it is for a severely disabled student who needs one- one intervention all day to blossom in the wave of COVID learning? Having a life skills class that is virtual, makes it difficult for me to use my teaching style of hands-on, real life situations.
Try teaching a child in the life skills program to learn safety signs, make their own lunch or academic tasks such as time, money and measurment while not having the child directly in front of you is challenging.
I have researched how other teachers are reaching their students with severe needs. One way is through the use of BOOM Cards. BOOM cards is a platform that allows teachers to purchase and/or create digital activities for students. Boom “decks” are made up of individual, digital task cards for students to complete. Teacher assigns and data can be provided for the individual work of each child.
Boom is great for…
*Differentiating your instruction (you can assign different students different decks!)
*Giving students immediate, automatic feedback
*Getting students EXCITED about learning with badges and fun digital “rewards” for their work.
My life skills students are the students who need the most support. Most of them are distance learning and some are hybrid. These are not students who can do work independently nor learn in the traditional way. Using technology is an appropriate way to engage them during school hours.
BOOM cards are not only attractive to the students but enables me to progress monitor and receive data on their work.
I am able to differentiate work for the varied levels of students that I service. I am able to assign to the students that are with me as well as working with me from their home at a task relevent to their needs with the use of the cards.
