My students need a variety of different, engaging tools to help them to be successful. Working with all of the elementary grades (K-5), it's important to have a good selection in my toolbox!
The amazing students I get to work with are bright, happy children who are excited to learn! Some of them struggle and it’s so helpful to have tools for them to choose from. They love to figure things out and when I pull out a gadget or a game, or even some fancy looking flash cards, they light up and get excited! Sometimes they don’t even realize they’re learning when using some of the different tools! It's exciting to see their minds "click" and understand the concept we're teaching!
My Project
Having different things to choose from is important in our classroom. Kids with many different levels and abilities come to our room to learn. Having a good variety of resources definitely gives students the opportunity to discover new strategies and apply them to their learning. Having colorful and fun items also motivates them and can make a daunting lesson a lot more fun.
The other teachers in our school know that our classroom is a great place to come and find special resources to reach students who are struggling.
Learning games, fun math manipulatives and colorful tools are inviting and engaging.
“Penguins On Ice” will be a great game for some of our younger students...the fun theme will get them excited about math. The “Word Teasers” will be so much fun that the kids won’t realize they’re LEARNING! Older students will especially like the “Mental Blox” critical thinking game, and it should spark some good discussions.
