PK students come to school every day eager to learn. They are greeted with cheerful smiles and are welcomed back to school each morning. We have recently moved into a beautiful new building and hope to continue to encourage the children to explore the world of learning. Our students come from low-income families and attend a Title I school.
My students and their families were affected by Hurricane Laura, Hurricane Imelda, Hurricane Delta, a plant explosion, and COVID-19.
This is the first adventure in school for many of our prekindergarten students. Many of them are learning to speak English. They are afraid for the first few weeks, and then they begin to learn the English language quickly. It only takes a few months until they begin understanding and speaking English.
Many of our families are still working to rebuild their homes from different hurricanes. Many have moved back into their homes, but a few are still not living in their homes. Even with rebuilding their homes and moving into a new school building, our students are positive and ready to learn.
My Project
My students are learning virtually and face to face. I need Boom Cards from Teachers Pay Teachers to be able to engage the students in interactive lessons. They have improved so much with their online learning. They amaze me daily what a four-year-old is able of doing on the computer.
My students will be able to use Boom Cards to bring their computer skills to a higher level.
They are getting very good at Zoom, some are able to share their screen, annotate, and are able to communicate without any problem.
I believe Boom Cards will help my students to be interactive and learn more than they could by listening to me teach all the time. We have had to go totally virtual several times and it is easier each time we are virtual. I want my students to be prepared for Kindergarten and I believe being able to get these Boom Cards with this Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will help.
