Bookstand for Title I Classroom

Help me give my students a bookstand so my students have access to the books we are using that current week. This will help students have access to the materials we are using to support their learning.

My Students

I am teaching full-day kindergarten at a school that has an average class size of 25 students. These students are aged between 5-7 years old and are both male and female. The students are eager to learn and love all the subjects.

My students are kind and smart students who are trying their best every day.

They work hard and are very special and great people! I work in a low-income school so my school and students do not have the funds to support this.

My Project

This bookstand will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. I read on the carpet to them, they complete work there, and they read independently! This bookstand will help them access the texts we are currently reading that week and are using to enhance their learning and understanding. Students will have the opportunity to review the texts I read aloud to them every week.

With this new bookstand, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.

They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and the books on the bookstand will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
