Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a first year teacher in a low-income school district, there are many resources that my students need to use to learn in order to become successful. This includes resources such as writing utensils, reading materials, mathematics manipulatives, as well as a classroom that is comfortable. Teaching in a low-income school district means that my students are faced with several challenges inside and outside of the classroom. I want to provide my students with essentials learning utensils to succeed.
My classroom will include twenty-four smart and creative students who want to learn.
Kindergarteners require a variety of hands-on manipulatives and materials. In my classroom, ninety percent of my students come to school knowing English as their second language. Many of my students come from households where they are raised by a single parent that works two to three jobs. Although I cannot control what happens at home, I can control what is taught and learned at school. This means providing them with a variety of learning materials that correspond to their reading, mathematic, science, and social studies levels. By doing this, I am hopeful that I can help them succeed in their life and achieve their dreams.
My Project
As I continue to purchase books for my students in our classroom library, the more space I need to put them all! Having two sturdy bookshelves will solve this problem. It's also a super convenient height for my kindergarteners.

I am planning to organize all of my leveled books so that my students will have access to them easily. Having these bookshelves will be so helpful for classroom organization. They will also help create a small library nook where my kiddos can quietly read in. Your donations to this project will be much appreciated!
