My Students
The students at my school come from a multitude of cultural and socioeconomical backgrounds. As they all come from different experiences in their lives, they come together in my classroom as a family and learning community.
My students are inspiring to one another as well as myself.
There is a wide range of student experience from being new to the country or having no prior school experience to having several years at a preschool or pre-kindergarten opportunity. No matter what, my students are full of life and love to learn.
My Project
Students are visual learners who make connections with things they see.
Our books deserve a nice home, so that students can see the the front covers and want to read them again and again.
The bookshelves we currently have are falling apart. A bookshelf that displays books we've read in class will encourage literacy skills such as retelling and rereading. The bookshelf will display books so children will read them again and again.
When students can see the books we have read together they will be likely to pull these books again and again to read. When children reread books to themselves and each other, they develop early language and literacy skills to support their love for learning.
