My second grade students attend a public school in New Hampshire. They come to school each day ready for new challenges!
These seven and eight year old students are excited about learning and eager to do their best!
My class includes children of all abilities and backgrounds. Over the past few years, students and their families are coming from more and more countries including India, China, Russia, Pakistan and Bangladesh. My students are kind, caring, energetic and creative. My class enjoys learning in an active and hands-on way.
My Project
It is my goal every year to create a safe and caring environment for my second graders. Everyone is special and we celebrate the ways in which we are the same and different. We strive to understand and appreciate each other.
It is important for my students to have books that depict different cultures.
Expanding our class library with these books will help us understand diversity among people . This understanding leads to tolerance and acceptance. It is also important for children to see their cultures reflected in the books we read together. Having these books will enrich our classroom library and our lives!
