This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are determined to succeed. They overcome tremendous obstacles just to show up for school each day. They come from a high poverty neighborhood in Pennsylvania. Our school is situated in a neighborhood plagued by violence. I teach grades Pre K - 8th grade, so my curriculum needs to be very diverse.
Many of the children we serve come from single-parent homes or are living with grandparents or even in foster care, but they show up ready to learn and determined to succeed.
My job is to help them reach that goal. I would love your support.
My Project
We are restocking our student classroom library. Apparently my students have grown tired of the books the have already read and are craving new exciting adventures. So these new books should be just what they need. My students love to read but our selection of reading material is a bit outdated. We also are requesting stickers to reward our outstanding readers each and every time they complete a different book. We also have a monetary system where they can purchase items from the class store The Prop money will help out with that perfectly . I think this project will help my student grow in literacy.
