My Project

As a teacher, I strive to bring a variety of books to my students. My kids love reading and they beg me to read more books to them daily! My students need to be exposed to diverse, inclusive books. This month, I am requesting diverse books in honor of Black History Month. I would like to give my students anti-racist, inclusive books that highlight people of color. The books that I chose have positive messages about diversity and inclusion.

"Knowing the past opens the door to the future."

I teach at one of the most diverse schools in the country. It is important that my students see themselves in the books in our classroom library. The books that I have chosen are books that my students will absolutely enjoy. I also want my students to see that they are readers. I am also requesting magnetic letter chips and photo boxes to use for phonics practice and task cards. Thank you for your support!
