This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Coming from some of the most hardest hit parts of New York City, my students with emotional disturbances require a different, differentiated , outside of the box approach when learning about social and emotional health. After years of being told that their social and emotional health is best not to talk about, these books will help my students come to terms with how they feel on a daily basis. With these books, we can improve social and emotional literacy one book at a time.
My Project
Every student who comes in my classroom to be educated, deserves to not only be taught the history of our planet, but also about the social and emotional literacy. With these books, social and emotional wellness will be practiced on a regular basis. Together we can help mend old wounds with these books that my students will be able to relate to. Without these books, my students will continue to be disconnected with the world around them. Every single book will help my students with improving their outlook on life, as well how they attack each day. Every bit helps change their future!
