Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am fortunate enough to teach really amazing kids. They are kind, hard working, and truly enjoy learning. The students and I have created a community of learners by getting to know each other through writing and math activities. The students value the diversity in our classroom. My students also understand the power of hard work and a positive growth mindset.
Learning is a lifelong skill.
My students are curious about the world around them. They ask good questions, set a path for knowledge, and then engage in collaborative learning with peers. They are eager to become civic minded leaders who engage in the community around them.
My Project
These books will help students gain a greater understanding of global competence. Students will be able to ask questions to understand issues, keep an open mind, engage in civil discourse, and apply creative thinking and solve problems. The books will help to give students a narrative understanding of global issues like hunger, climate, and clean water.
Globally competent students can investigate the world, recognize perspectives, communicate ideas, and take action to improve conditions.
The students will be able to use the information in the readings to gain an understanding of how human societies interact with natural systems. Education is the key to global sustainability.
