This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our current module we are learning to identify text features! However, because we have few hands on nonfiction books available to us, and the ones we do have are all about birds, students are very confused and seem to think the text features only apply to books about birds.

Please help bring a variety of nonfiction texts to our classroom to engage students as nonfiction readers.

In elementary school, having physical books to hold, point to, and read with a friend make a difference when it comes to learning to navigate text features and conduct research about a topic.
