I currently teach Spanish 3 at the high school level. These students range from 10th-12th grade. All of my students signed up voluntarily for my Spanish 3 class. It is something that is not required by the school, therefore it can be said that all the students want to achieve great things. We create a safe space where everyone feels encouraged to learn.
My students have a passion for learning language and are constantly wanting more.
In my class we learn to listen, read, write, and speak the Spanish language. My students like to push themselves, and I often assist them in doing so. We listen to native speakers in our class and use realia to learn about culture, just as much as we learn about the language.
My Project
My students currently have 0 books in Spanish. Studies show that with the input of text in the target language will significantly increase the students ability to learn a language. We currently are reading a book together as a class and my students are loving it!
Books would help us build a class library where students can read individually, in small groups, or we can read as a class.
Reading is a life long skill and can really help us learn the Spanish language. This is why my class is asking for books and book storage so we can have a Spanish library at our fingertips everyday!
