Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My third grade students walk into class every day full of energy and eager to learn! Our school is a Title 1 school where over 60% of the students are English Language Learners and 70% of the learners live in poverty. Our students love coming to school and our staff is dedicated to providing a balanced education for each and every student. The next step towards giving these students the comprehensive education they deserve is to provide resources that tailor to their needs.
My Project
I want my students to be responsible, caring citizens who understand that we grow by taking chances and learning from our mistakes.
By having these books, my students will learn how to overcome some of their challenges and make changes to allow them to grow emotionally, socially, and academically.
I want to create a caring classroom where everyone accepts each other, treats each other with respect, and feels safe in taking chances to help them grow. My students need lots of examples of how to do this. Having these books will help create that environment and help teach them how to be respectful and caring citizens.
