My students are from a rural community and attend a small K-8 school. Our school is its own district of approximately 150 students. One of the most amazing facts about the school I teach at is it happens to be the same school I graduated from, and also my dad did before me. The building/campus I teach in is the same one I attended way back when!
In a way so much has changed and at the same time, the students are just the same.
They are lively, energetic and love to learn! Our school might be small and our budget is too, but that does not mean I do not strive to give my students the very best of everything they need make their learning experience the best I can. With this DonorsChoose.org project, I will be one step closer to offering my students a comfortable and inviting place to learn.
My Project
My students are little sponges and they crave knowledge. I would love to expand our library so we can expand our knowledge base. Giving my students more access to culturally diverse books can expand their knowledge. At our school having access to culturally diverse books is something that is desperately needed. Adding these books could make a real difference to our classroom and our lessons.
My students can learn about different cultures, traditions, and believes through these books and stories.
They can learn about the importance of these cultures and as we focus on acceptance and respect. Giving these learning opportunities to my students would make an impact that can last a lifetime.
