Many of my students are labeled high-risk, receive free or reduced-price lunch, are English Language Learners (ELL), come from low socioeconomic households, and have trouble in school. Being able to engage them in mathematics through the use of differentiated instruction is a wonderful way to get them involved and excited about the learning process.
The majority of my students cannot afford their own supplies, so I want to make sure that all of my students are receiving the same education.
One way to ensure their success is to supply my students with quality materials. Any assistance you can offer in making learning accessible and enjoyable to my seventh-grade math students would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
My Project
Math can be challenging, so introducing these engaging books will help increase learning and engagement. My students will be able to read these books when starting new units, during free time, and if they are struggling with certain concepts.
According to research, using children’s literature in math lessons will enhance learning in many exciting and tangible ways and help students build problem-solving skills.
Including books in math can help build a more concrete understanding of math skills through illustrations.
These books model problem solving, show girls and woman using math, show how math is necessarily in every day tasks, and many more exciting concepts.
A few benefits of books in math are:
-Provide meaningful context for mathematical content.
