I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to inspire and teach nearly 400 students, many of which are still learning English, do not have the ideal lifestyle at home, and/or come to school for a safe place. Nearly half of our student population is on free and reduced meals.
My goal as an art educator is to help them feel important and confident about themselves while they are in my classroom.
Art is a fun class where all students can, and should, be successful and happy. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a child's face light up with excitement and pride when they see their artwork hanging on the wall.
With the addition of drawing books in our classroom, my students will have additional inspiration and instruction to build their creativity. The books will inspire the students with new ideas on their art projects and will help them draw certain subjects.
These new art books and colored pencils are a great chance for my students to build their creativity independently.
Teaching one-on-one with each student is nearly impossible in large classes so these books will be a useful teaching tool to help instruction. The students will also have access to the art library once they have completed an art assignment and can use the books and colored pencils to learn to draw new subjects.
