Currently, in our school district, we are using a lot of technology to try to teach remotely. The district has been working hard in distributing Chromebooks and hot spots to try to give everyone equal access to what we are creating in our Google Classrooms. For the younger students, the district is distributing some tablets that they had in the warehouse. For the children who continue to struggle with the lack of technology, the district has created learning packets that are being distributed at some of our school sites that are only open to offer lunches to our students in need.
Because our schools shut down so quickly, we were all in a mad dash to get the kids materials to take home. We were putting materials in Ziplock bags and brown paper bags to have the students pick up packets and materials they would need at home until we were allowed to return. Unfortunately, we were not allowed back and the biggest regret was not sending home enough books for the kids. I want to make sure this time we are ready, and the totes will allow us to prepare an organized and efficient way to get books to our students homes.
