Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a wonderful group of second-grade learners. Our classroom is full of diversity with students who are ready to learn and enjoy the process. Our diverse group includes military children, special education students, and second language learners.

We are learning together to build a great, inclusive learning environment to work towards our highest potential.

We work together to include all students in all activities. We all work on goals although we just may accomplish them in different ways.

My main goal is to create an environment where all my students will continue to learn, grow and see themselves in their curriculum. Three words to describe our learning environment are “whatever it takes.” When we do this, we all benefit.

My Project

These new books will be an added addition to our Graphic Novels and books about Holiday Around the World for our classroom library.

These are books and topics my students have asked for and are longing to read.

They are beginning to enjoy Graphic Novels about many different topics as well as wanting to learn more about others and where they come from and their backgrounds.

My students will also get the chance to not only learn about others but learn about themselves and learn where they come from as well. We are learning to become a classroom community and these new books will help us learn how to do this and work together.
