My students are often faced with difficult obstacles in and out of the classroom, from personal struggles to learning disabilities. Despite those obstacles, my goal is to provide a meaningful learning environment, that will encourage students to see their abilities and know that anything is possible. In our classroom, we love to discover new topics, take on challenges, solve problems, and navigate through second grade learning together.
My students are passionate about learning new things and are ready to apply their newly acquired knowledge in their everyday lives.
All I need to do is equip them with the tools they need to be successful.
My Project
I want my students to have a classroom collection of books available on topics that they enjoy learning and reading about. A high interest book is a book that a student chooses to pick up and has to be told to put it down. They may or may not be able to read the words in the book, but as long as it's in their hands that is a win.
By donating to this project, you will be allowing children to become better readers and eventually become adult thinkers.
My students are begging for different books in our classroom library and have helped me create a wish list. These books in this project will help minimize our wish list and put high interest books in my students hands.
