My students need dozens of new books to capture their interest and imagination.
I'm eager to light a fire through literature. Help fill our classroom library with books that will captivate my students and help them become strong, excited readers!
My students are from every walk of life: from the children of university professors, to the children of immigrants, to the children of hardworking blue-collar families, to the children who are homeless.
Our elementary school has recently adopted an exciting reading program with a goal to turn every student into a lifelong reader.
I have put together a selection of books that cover a wide range of reading levels and topics in order to appeal to our wide range of student abilities and interests. I've worked hard to gather titles that other teachers have and on topics that my students are excited about. There should be a few books for readers of every interest and every reading level in this collection!
Your donation to this project will help create a classroom library full of rich and relevant titles for my readers, particularly my struggling readers. Your donation will help my students become strong, enthusiastic readers.
Our new school reading program has students reading at least 1/2 hour during the school day and at least 1/2 hour after school or an hour a day. My goal is to help every single one of my students become stronger readers and to have them build a reading life in which they don't want to put their books down!
There is nothing worse than to hear a student say, "I don't want this book because it's boring." I've found that this means that the book is too difficult for them and they don't want to sound like a robot when they are reading it.
As grown-up readers, we would hate reading like that too! My personal mission is to make sure that every one of my 28 students becomes excited, enthusiastic, strong readers knowing that the more that they read, the stronger readers and students they will become!
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
