Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 38 curious students who are learning to love to read in my classroom. Most of my students are early or transitional readers and their goal is to become better readers every day!

Each one of them is an English Language Learner (ELL) and underprivileged. With your help, I will be able to help them achieve their reading goals for this year. My students need fiction and nonfiction books to read. Because of low school funding, we are getting less and less money for school supplies and books. Most of the books in our current classroom library have been enjoyed throughout the years, but many are worn and are falling apart from being handled by many, many small loving hands. Your donation will not only help the students I have this school year but also my future students.
I am a dual language teacher in a school of 800 underprivileged children who want to succeed in life, be good citizens, and help their families. With your help, you can make this a reality.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance our classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. They read their books independently there and it is the place where I read aloud to them! Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with care, and they are grateful when they get the opportunity to read. These books have been chosen with my students in mind- I created a survey asking them what types of books they would enjoy reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time, and in turn create better readers in both English and Spanish!
