Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

This butterfly book is part of a great 'Know-It-All' series and will help my students become better readers while becoming experts on butterflies' life cycle and habitat. Every year we study butterflies and in the Spring we raise caterpillars to butterflies. The 'Know-It-All Butterflies' offers a visually engaging and fascinating exploration of butterflies which we study in our classroom. The Know-It-All series is written at very accessible level for my third graders, many of whom are struggling readers. This will inspire them to practice their reading skills and enable them to fully explore butterflies. My students will delight in Butterflies! by Darlene Freeman and illustrated by Mike Maydak. These books on butterflies will further our class studies of these fascinating and beautiful members of the insect family and will provide a great boost to my students' reading interest and skills.
