Our students come from very diverse backgrounds. Blue collar, white collar... farmers and CEOs... our community hosts a wide range of experiences and incomes. Located in a township without a post office, our school struggles to make ends meet at times. We aren't Title I but could be. We have a very strong community presence in our school, which helps, but constant budget cuts mean less money.
Even with these obstacles, our community is eager to see their children achieve a higher level of academic success than previous generations.
In today's world, being literate in technology is an essential skill. We hope to prepare and enrich our students for such a tech-based world.
My Project
As a school librarian encouraging the students to read for pleasure is a great joy. The students submit a request for books they would like to see in the library. The books in this project were submitted by students as books they would like to read.
This project will allow the students to exercise choice in creating the library collection and will gain access to books they want to read!
This project encourages choosing books you want to read just to read. And proves that curling up with a good book is all you need to encourage reading. Get my students motivated to read!
