My Students

My 2nd graders have a passion for learning! They come to school with a smile every morning and are eager to come back the next day! I have an EL cluster, which means that a chunk of my class speaks English as their second language. They love asking questions and learning about the world around them! Reading is an area that a lot of my students struggle in. Leveled books in our library allows them to gain the skills they need.

My Project

My 2nd graders value acts of kindness and doing things to make others' day special. We create a Wall of Kindness where they write down when they see someone doing something kind for others. They truly have the biggest hearts and want to spread love around our school!

I am asking for an act of kindness to help instill a love for reading by expanding my classroom room library with engaging books.

These books allow children the opportunity to learn about nonfiction topics and dive into imaginative fiction books. To see a smile when a child is reading a book is the most rewarding part of my job!
