Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Every day my students start off in our Gathering Circle. After they take care of "housekeeping," we come together to discuss what we will be learning about today. They can't wait to start the learning fun. Our motto is: Listen, Think, and Try!
My students come from a variety of backgrounds.
They range from students who are learning the English language (ELL/ESL students) to ones who are special education students, and everyone in-between. The school is a very supportive school, and we try to meet the needs of all our students.
My Project
My students are in need of a variety of books that they can access in the classroom for when they need to read to a partner or on their own. The Transportation, Space, and Numbers and Counting Theme libraries will be added to our classroom library so that the class has a few new books to choose from. The book rack and the book bags will help house the books when they are done "shopping" for the books they will read during the week.
Giving the students a choice in which books they read will help them build their skills in picking the right book.
