My first-grade scholars are simply fabulous! They are a bright-eyed group of six-and seven-year-olds who are always eager to learn. They are very inquisitive and have a thirst for knowledge that is inspiring. My students constantly work hard to do their best to reach their next academic goal, and they all have the ability to achieve any of their heart's desires.
My school is a Title I school with a high ELL population, and despite the obstacles these children face in life, they come to school every day ready to learn, and this is why I want to ensure our classroom fosters their love of reading!
My Project
These chair pockets will help my students stay organized and keep their workspace shipshape. All students will use the pockets every day. Students will use them to store their independent reading books, and since each student will have easy access to their books, this means students will have more time to read. And more reading time means "the more places they will go" because fluent reading is one key to academic success. Not only will the chair pockets allow students more reading time, they will also help students learn organizational and responsibility skills which are two more keys to student achievement. So by helping out with a donation today, it will positively impact the lives of little learners!
