Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are beautiful, kind, and loving children. They come from a large urban school district where 95% of them receive a free or reduced lunch.
My students come from all over the globe, including Somalia, Puerto Rico, South America and Africa.
My students love coming to school and they love to learn. They love having new experiences and participating in engaging and interesting lessons and activities. With your help, we can provide them with what they need to be successful learners.
My Project
I am requesting many Early literacy materials for an Intervention classroom. My students are reading approximately 2-3 years below grade level. This hinders their overall success.
Students come to the room to improve their reading, fluency, comprehension, spelling, writing and phonics skills.
The flip books, emergent readers and word family readers will aid the students immensely. They will benefit from all these materials. They will receive explicit reading instruction. Not only will these materials increase their love of reading but they will also increase their reading level. Then, they will feel a sense of success in their academic learning.
