This year is my 21st year in education. It is a blessing to spend my days at this beautiful community school in the spectacular mountains of Western North Carolina. My drive to work is full of beautiful landscapes. My school is kindergarten through fifth grade, with fewer than 150 students.
We may be small, but our dreams are big.
The community is deeply invested in the education and nurturing of each student. Economic status does not provide a barrier to learning; instead, it provides a challenge this school accepts on a daily basis. With your help, we can give these deserving students everything they need!

We are requesting a companion set to the Fresh Mart Grocery Store so we can stock shelves and get shopping!
There are 70 pieces to play with, including grocer and shopper role-play items like an apron, conveyor belt divider bar, cloth shopping bag, fully stocked grab-and-go rack with gum, granola bars, lip balm, magazines, gift cards, signs, and more! Students will use the requested play money with the child-friendly credit cards, coupons, grocery boxes, and cans with lids! The cash register will be set up so students can practice giving change and making purchases. The Scholastic Book Club money will be used to purchase books to set up a Book Fair where students can use the play money to purchase books, make change and improve reading skills all at the same time.
