Our school is located in a rural, low income, desert community with only two 4th grade classrooms. Despite their background, our students are eager to learn every day using rigorous, cross-curriculum learning projects that promote thinking outside the box as well as team building.
Enthusiastic, eager to learn, resilient, and flat out amazing are just a few ways I would describe my class.
My students enter the classroom each and every day excited over what new book or project we will be starting this week. Their passion is contagious throughout the school, as they share their love for learning through projects and presentations.
My students are in need of social studies reading materials that tie in with our hands-on activities and projects. Despite the many challenges for students today, my students have a love of learning and reading. This thirst for knowledge has led to a need for grade level and standard appropriate materials to read during small group social studies instruction.
These donated books will help students continually spark a love of reading while integrating social studies into the classroom.
We have many projects planned related to researching and comparing Native American tribes across California. Thank you for helping keep history alive!
