Help me give my students brand new books to read. Jason Reynold's book Long Way Down uses poetry to tell the story of his childhood while August Wilson's The Piano Lesson continues our study of his cycle plays.

My Students

"Can I call you Ms. R?" This is a common refrain among my students at Shortridge IB High School. Reiberg can be tough to pronounce and I welcome a good nickname. Once they've nicknamed you, you are in!

Call me Berg!

That's what they've called me for over 16 years in education, and I don't plan on changing it now. I've taught everything from theatre arts to freshman english and one thing never changes: the kids.

Students love having new supplies to use in class. They still get excited, even high schoolers, when they get to open a new set of markers or crack a book. Your support allows me to put necessary materials in the hands students, and I can't thank you enough.

My Project

For years I have taught a variety of plays and texts to my students, and as the years go on the scripts and books begin to fall apart in their hands. Students love nothing more than fresh new materials to use in class, and books are just as exciting as a pack of new markers.

Help me put copies of The Piano Lesson by August Wilson and Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds into the hands of my readers.

Teaching dramatic literature is an exciting, interactive way to engage readers and I cannot wait to get started on this unit with my students.
