I'm new to Lincoln Elementary, so I've yet to meet the 800+ students I'll see in the library once a week. But I know that each of them has an "inner reader" that I can help feed. Reading is a path down which their lives will be changed. (enriched/expanded... and, ideally, filled with joy and meaning) So I want to help build a culture of voracious reading. I look forward to meeting them ALL, and I look forward to eagerly sharing a mountain of books with them!
My Project
I have selected 17 award-winning books. I filled the cart with multiple copies of those that I expect to be in highest demand. They will be checked out from our library... a library that is in need of the best of the best in children's literature.
Children will freely choose these books and freely read them when they visit the library.

I will be gathering books through free and low-cost channels, but I want to begin the year with several new books that I'm certain children will be eager to read!
