My students are smart, kind and loyal to their small, rural school. Many parents work hard and have very little, low socioeconomic status is prevalent in our area. My students love books and being read to! They light up when I introduce a new book, many of which they haven't read!
My students deserve the best as they always work hard with what little they have!
As a parent and a educator literacy is very important to me and my students light up when we read a great story!
My Project
I love reading and I use a lot of books in my school counseling lessons and when working individually with students. Unfortunately our library doesn't have all the books I need to make my lessons meaningful. These books will be used for weekly lessons as well as during individual counseling sessions with students.
Not only are they learning important lessons on empathy, kindness or differences, but they are getting more minutes of reading!
I see EVERY student, from the highest achieving students to those who may struggle academically and/or socially. By having these books at my fingertips I can better serve my students.
