My students attend a middle school in an area with a high poverty rate. I, therefore, work as hard as I can to make school a safe and exciting learning space for my students. I am always trying to learn about the newest technologies and ways to engage my students.
I love that my students can teach me as much as I can teach them.
All of my students come from different backgrounds and cultures and they find a way to teach me something new every day. I also work with many students who have special learning needs. Many of the students look forward to school every day, knowing that it is a safe place where they are loved and cared for by the adults in the building. The students know it is a place to take risks, be challenged, and grow and learn.
My Project
My students are in need of these audiobooks to use during their reading groups. When students are not with a teacher, they would be able to use these books to listen to different timeless stories. These stories also make way for students to have conversations about books and their learning.
When students read and talk about what they read with their peers, it creates authentic collaboration and learning experiences.
I also have many students in my class that are reading below grade level. Giving them the opportunity to listen to the audiobook allows everyone to have access to the stories. All children should have positive reading experiences in school to set them up for success in life.
