My students are fortunate to live in a community where diversity surrounds them. Our differences are what make our classroom an amazing place to come learn each day.
Each morning, 23 students walk through my door, ready to be shown what the world has to offer.
They explore, challenge, and create new opportunities for themselves every day. My students are fortunate to live in a community where diversity surrounds them. They will grow and learn in an environment that celebrates their uniqueness, but also draws on their similarities.
The books in this project support student growth in many ways.
From growth mind-set and friendship, to seasons and climates, books offer learning moments beyond our own experiences.
Having a classroom library that is rich in topics helps support student interest and growth to its fullest potential. Some books will serve as mentor texts supporting curricular concepts across our day. Being able to refer back to a text we read in class during Reader's or Writer's Workshop is a powerful tool that gives even more context to the learning.
By bringing more series into our classroom library, I am able to continue to offer all students a library full of appropriate and supportive texts to encourage growth and positive thinking.
