My students live in a small rural community. Many of the students never travel much more than a few miles from their homes. I need these books to get them reading. Many of my students read several years below where they should be.
My school is very small and sometimes struggles to supply all the needed materials.
Many of my students are several years below grade level and many are also English Second Language students. I have an uphill climb to get these students on level, or above. I need books!
My Project
These materials will be used in class to get students reading. Having the books in the classroom, I can control better what they are reading. I can help guide them on the correct level and usually they enjoy what I assign them. Once I can get them reading, their reading ability will go up quickly.
I can't begin to explain how these supplies will help my classroom and my students.
Reading is the key to success for everything. I teach 7th and 8th graders and for some, this is their last chance to learn to read. These supplies may mean the world to my students.
