My Project

We are a classroom of 22 students in a low-income community. Many of the families are hard working single parents or parents working multiple jobs to support their households. The neighborhood is full of hard-working people, but they struggle to keep up with bills. Our school has many caring teachers trying to fill the needs of our children. We are a 4th - 8th-grade building with students who come from various backgrounds. There are approximately 400 students in our building. The students are eager to read about new topics and dive into books that interest them! Our school library is mostly older books. These gift cards would help students purchase new books that intrigue them so they develop a love for reading successfully! There will also be an incentive for PBIS behavior to promote achievements! They will be able to earn gift cards for on-task behavior days.
