This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are from the lower-income community in a Title I school. My students are very creative and and love to help others. My students also love to learn, are always engaged and eager to answer questions! They love visitors and being hands-on in their learning!
My students are great and quick listeners, love to laugh, and love to have fun!
They are eager to finish any project they start! They never leave a job unfinished! They are truly the definition of hardworking!
My Project
This project is geared towards increasing my classroom library. Currently, a have a miniature library that the students disapprove of. I am a first year teacher and I further understand the importance of having a classroom library that students enjoy. Therefore, the materials in this project will help my students find a deeper love for reading, expand their thinking, expand their vocabulary, and increase their love for our classroom. The math books in this project will be used during small group rotation. These math books will allow each group to work together on a given problem ane increase their math skills. My students are very hands-on, therefore I want to provide the opportunity for them to explore in their learning and work with one another.
