Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our library is the center of learning at our suburban middle school. We are one of the oldest schools in LAUSD and need help in staying current with our demanding culture.
Most of our students are on fixed incomes and receive free lunches at school.
Our school is partnering with U.C.L.A. to improve student achievement. Our staff is dedicated to seeing students succeed in helping them meet the challenges of a growing job market. Your valuable donations will help our students achieve their goals of becoming self-reliant citizens.
My Project
These award winning books will used in circulation for our students in the library. Our library has been closed in the past, so these award winning books will modernize our collection so our students will have the finest in recent literature. These titles have been awarded Caldecott medals, Newberry medals, and Corretta Scott King awards for excellent literature. These hard cover books inspire students for years as they pursue their passions.
Your generous gift to our library will be used by countless students in years to come!
This collection includes best in fiction and non fiction. These titles will be used for leisure reading as well as projects in the classroom. Thank you for your consideration!
