Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students
As a Title I school in Fort Meade, Maryland all of our kids receive free breakfast and a high percentage receive free or reduced-price lunch. A large portion of our students come from low income communities.
School is a place of comfort, safety, and opportunity.
Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and come to school excited for the day. They try their best so that they are prepared for the future.
Giving them a chance to play! Our young learns gain so much from playing with their peers.
My Project
Young children love to listen to stories. When faced with problems it can be difficult to understand and get advise from adults. When a book and a character has some of the same problems they can relate to they will open their minds to different possibilities.
Having these social and emotional books will allow me to build resilience in my students when faced with life changes.
Students often learn through a good story!
Having books that will allow them to see the situation, problem, and solution will give them a chance to acquire skills that will help them face the challenges that they are reading about.
