Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a librarian/technology teacher in a rural part of the state of Washington. Our school has a high migrant population, and all of our students receive free lunch. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and situations, yet each and every day, they come to school with smiles on their faces and joy in their hearts. Thank you in advance for helping me instill a love of reading all while preparing my students to be college and career ready in a 21st century world!
My Project
I am asking for a selection of books to be used when students have indoor recess. Unfortunately, our school does not have a separate gym and cafeteria space. This means that on rainy days, we have no choice but to have students sit in the hallways during their recess. Our intent is to create a cart filled with books giving students an opportunity to read during that break. With it being on wheels, we can move it to different hallways as needed.
